December 4, 2010By Tasan Thompson

Grammy-winning vocalist Alicia Keys strategized a new-fangled way to raise money for World AIDS Day. Instead of the typical commercial or celebrity-endorsed flyer, Keys including along with a gang of celebrities have declared themselves digitally dead.

Many are raising their eyebrows at the sight of their favorite celebs like Justin Timberlake and Swizz Beats lying in digital coffins, but on December 1 also known as World Aids Day, celebrity Twitter and/or Facebook users sacrificed their digital life to save a real life.

No more constant tweet updates or frequent Facebook status posts until the goal of $1 million is reached.

This radical movement includes popular icons such as Jennifer Hudson, Jay Sean, Lady Gaga, Kim Kardashian, Usher, and The Buried Life.

Videos called 'Last Tweet and Testaments' have been posted on websites like Buylife.org or YouTube to promote awareness.

Fans can contribute a minimum of $1 and buy the life of any celebrity through means of the internet or simply text' 90999.' All contributions support KCA (Keep a Child Alive) to help AIDS victims in India and Africa.

As of today, about 25,000 users have donated over $230,000 to the cause.
