Children Found Obese - Covered with Lice And Spider Bites
September 4, 2010By Sarah Richardson

Last week, police outside Atlanta responded to reports of a domestic dispute, but on their arrival they found something more shocking.

When officers entered the home, they found a 158-pound, 5-year-old girl and her 4-year-old sister, weighing 89 pounds. They are both extremely overweight for their age size.

Police said the girls were found lying on stained mattresses, wearing only urine-soaked diapers.

Both girls had head lice big enough to see while standing above them, their teeth were rotting out and they were covered in spider and flea bites.

The girls' parents, James and Anne Cordona, were taken to Cobb County Jail and both face felony second-degree child cruelty charges and misdemeanor charges of contributing to the deprivation of a minor.
